Nothing Phone 3

Nothing Phone 3 – Nothing is gearing up to launch its new smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3, and the buzz around it is already pretty exciting. The phone is expected to go on sale in India starting July 1, which means we don’t have to wait too long to get our hands on it. This comes almost exactly a year after the company launched the Nothing Phone 2 back in July 2022. But this time, Nothing is shaking things up a bit with a fresh design and some cool new features.

A New Look, No More Glyph Interface

One of the biggest changes with the Phone 3 is its design. If you’ve seen the earlier Nothing phones, you’d know about the Glyph Interface — those glowing light patterns on the back that made the phone stand out. Well, the company seems to be moving on from that signature look. They’ve teased the new Phone 3 on their social media (remember, Nothing uses the platform formerly known as Twitter, now called X), showing a close-up of the phone’s back.

From the teaser, the Phone 3 looks pretty slick with a dual-tone finish and some sharp lines and cuts, giving it a more mature and polished vibe compared to the quirky light show of previous models. So yeah, no more glowing lights, but the new design looks clean and modern in its own way.

What’s Under the Hood?

Although Nothing hasn’t revealed all the details yet, leaks and insider info hint that the Phone 3 will be packing a pretty powerful processor — so you can expect smooth performance whether you’re gaming, multitasking, or just browsing. The battery is also reportedly bigger than before, crossing the 5,000mAh mark, which should keep the phone running longer without constantly needing a recharge.

Camera-wise, the Phone 3 looks promising too. It’s said to have a triple-camera setup on the back, including a periscope telephoto lens. This kind of lens lets you zoom in a lot more without losing much clarity, so photography fans should be happy about that.

Price Tag — Expect a Steeper Cost

Now, the price. This is where things get interesting — or a bit expensive. Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, has hinted that the Phone 3 could be priced around £800. If you convert that to Indian rupees, it’s roughly Rs 90,000. That’s quite a jump from the Nothing Phone 2, which launched at just Rs 44,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

So, the Phone 3 is definitely positioning itself as more of a premium flagship device this time around. It’ll be interesting to see if the new features and design justify the higher price tag for fans and buyers.

Where to Buy?

If you’re in India and thinking about grabbing one, the Phone 3 will be sold through Flipkart, which has become a go-to place for many smartphone launches lately. So, keep an eye on Flipkart starting July 1 for the official sale.

Meanwhile, a Budget-Friendly Option from Nothing’s Sub-Brand CMF

Alongside the Phone 3, Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has also been busy. They recently rolled out the Phone 2 Pro, which is a more budget-friendly option compared to the mainline Nothing phones.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro has a triple-camera setup similar to the Phone 3a series. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery, so battery life shouldn’t be a worry. Plus, it has an IP54 water resistance rating, which means it can handle a little splash or sweat without freaking out — a nice bonus for everyday durability.

On the inside, the Phone 2 Pro comes with 8GB RAM and storage options that go up to 256GB, giving you some decent space for apps, games, photos, and more. One cool upgrade here is the redesigned removable back panel, making it easier for users to open up the phone and access internal parts — which is kind of a rare feature these days when phones are mostly sealed shut.

Wrapping Up

To sum it up, Nothing is making some bold moves with the Phone 3, moving away from its flashy Glyph lighting and stepping into a sleeker, more refined design. With a bigger battery, triple cameras including that handy periscope zoom, and a pricier tag, the Phone 3 looks set to compete with other flagship phones in the market.

If you’re more budget-conscious, the CMF Phone 2 Pro could be a good alternative with solid specs, a decent camera setup, and some useful features like water resistance and a removable back panel.

We’ll get to know more as the July 1 launch day approaches, but for now, it’s safe to say that Nothing is aiming to make a splash again — just in a new style this time.
