Huawei Pura 80 Series – Huawei is back in the spotlight with the launch of its brand-new Pura 80 Series in China, and it’s packed with serious tech power. The series includes four models — Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and the top-of-the-line Pura 80 Ultra. These phones bring massive camera upgrades, blazing-fast charging, and gorgeous OLED displays. Let’s break it all down in simple terms.
Pura 80 – The Base Model with Big Features
The regular Huawei Pura 80 may be the entry-level option, but it’s no slouch. It features a 6.6-inch flat OLED display with full HD+ resolution and a super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It supports over a billion colors and has a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which means it’ll shine bright even in sunlight. It’s also protected by Huawei’s second-gen Kunlun Glass for extra durability.
Inside, you get 12GB of RAM and storage that goes up to 1TB, which is more than enough for most people. Powering it all is a 5600mAh battery, and you can charge it quickly using 66W wired charging, 50W wireless, and even reverse wireless charging if you want to top up another device.
The camera setup is impressive: a 50MP main camera with variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0) for better shots in all lighting, a 12MP periscope lens for zoom, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. For selfies, there’s a 13MP front camera that can also shoot 4K video.
Pura 80 Pro – More Power, Bigger Camera Sensor
Next up is the Pura 80 Pro, which upgrades to a 6.8-inch curved OLED screen. It keeps the same crisp display features as the Pura 80 but adds a slightly bigger 5700mAh battery and much faster charging: 100W wired and 80W wireless — that’s super quick!
The camera gets a serious bump here. You now have a massive 50MP one-inch sensor for incredible detail and low-light shots. It also includes a 48MP telephoto macro lens, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and the same multispectral sensor. Zoom goes up to 100x digitally, and the video options include 960fps slow motion at 1080p.
You’ll still get 12GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage, plus stereo speakers and Huawei’s new Ark Engine, which boosts performance by 36% compared to older models.
Pura 80 Pro+ – Satellite-Ready and Extra RAM
The Pura 80 Pro+ is very similar to the Pro in terms of design and features, but it steps things up in some key areas. RAM jumps to 16GB, and you can pick between 512GB or 1TB of storage.
The Pro+ also introduces something really cool — dual satellite communication using China’s Tiantong and Beidou systems. This means you can send messages (even with images) using satellite when there’s no cellular signal. It’s perfect for emergencies or off-grid adventures.
The camera specs stay the same as the Pro, with the same 50MP main sensor, 48MP telephoto macro, and 40MP ultra-wide.
Pura 80 Ultra – The Best of the Best
At the top is the Pura 80 Ultra, Huawei’s most premium option in this series. It keeps the same 6.8-inch screen but weighs a bit more at 233.5g due to the high-end materials and features. The design is luxurious, with a sunburst-inspired pattern and gold accents.
Now here’s where it really shines — the camera. The Ultra gets a next-level 50MP one-inch ultra-dynamic sensor, a 50MP large telephoto lens, a 12.5MP large-bottom ultra-telephoto lens, and a 40MP ultra-wide camera. It supports two levels of optical zoom (3.7x and 9.4x) and goes up to 100x digitally, all stabilized by sensor-shift tech.
Like the Pro+, it comes with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage, and the same big 5700mAh battery with top-tier charging speeds.
Software & Connectivity Goodies
All four models run on HarmonyOS 5.1 and include Huawei’s Xiaoyi AI assistant. You also get AI features like anti-peeping alerts, fast file transfers, and noise reduction during calls. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and satellite messaging in the higher-end models. Sound is handled by stereo speakers with Huawei Histen audio tech.
