The quality of a nation depends on the quality of its citizens. And the quality of citizens increases as and when they get educated and civilized. Education, thus, plays a pivotal role in the progress and development of any nation and of its people. The more the people get educated, better the progress.
Quality education is the need of the time. Parents today look for such institutions that provide quality education. This implies that they aim at all-round development of the students. As T.P. Nunn has said, “Education is the complete development of the individuality of the child, so that he/she can make this original contribution to human life according to the best capacity.” Thus, true education aims at providing quality education that envisages an integral formation of the child: physical, intellectual, emotional, psychological, moral and spiritual formation.
Teacher who imparts quality education to students has always and everywhere been considered and treated as someone very important in the society; and teaching as a noble profession. Developed countries like, Italy, America, Japan, France, etc., consider teacher as a VIP and treat him/her with utmost respect. Even our country, India, has finally recognized teacher as Rashtra Nirmata (maker of the nation). In the words of Henry Adams, A teacher affects eternity: he or she can never tell where his/her influence stops.” Indeed, it is teachers who shape and mould the personality of students. Kothari Education Commission has rightly said, “The destiny of our country is being shaped in her class room.” And no doubt, respected teachers do this great job in the class rooms!
At St. Norbert School, Damoh, MP, we have been attempting to make available quality education with our motto: “Striving for Excellence” No stone will be left unturned in this process. Within a short span of a decade the school has made tremendous progress both in quantity and in quality: with the strength of around 1400 students and 40 teaching staff.
Thanks to the Management for its vision, mission and support; Founder-Principal, committed teaching as well as non-teaching staff; government officials; and above all, respected parents who placed their trust in us. Care will be taken to make this temple of learning as one of the best and prestigious institutions of the town.
We must keep learning. As it is said, “The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you” (B.B. King). In the words of Albert Einstein, “Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not stop questioning.” Teaching-learning is an on-going process. Let’s together build a community/nation that gives priority to learning and education.
